LOVE.
Tomorrow we celebrate Valentine’s Day here in America. A day when we show the one’s we love just how much we love them. This is expressed in many different ways, from giving flowers, chocolates, candy, a card, gifts, or a variety of other different expressions.
I saw something online recently, a cover of a journel, that basically said: ‘Having me as your husband is gift enough!’. Is it? It that true? Or turn the word ‘husband’ to ‘wife’ and could that be true? I really believe there are couples who really do live this and give of themselves 24/7. That is love.
Jesus lived this for all of us when He walked the earth. His love was 24/7, setting an example for all of us to follow. He continues to live this as we walk the earth. We are to love 24/7.
Sometimes this can be easy, especially when it is someone we love and care for. Sometimes this can be hard, especially when it is someone we don’t really care for, for whatever reason. Yet, we show love, for Jesus said we are to ‘love’ as He ‘loved us’. That is an unconditionally love.
Sometimes our ‘human’ side roars up and negates showing love. For ‘they’ are against us, ‘they’ hurt us, ‘they’ want to destroy us, … whatever! We are to still rise above ourselves and love. We are to show love. For just maybe, the person we are showing love too, will soften and see us as a friend, and not a foe. We all can learn from this, and we just may see God working through us in His amazing ways!
Showing love is 24/7, not just on Valentine’s Day. But please do have a very Happy Valentine’s Day, for love is in the air!
